Get Involved!
There are loads of ways you can get involved with CFB's work or other local organisations with similar goals.
- Our What's Happening section gives details of events, talks and meetings, as well as news items.
- See below for areas for which CFB is seeking volunteers
- Find out about volunteering with other local groups which work closely with CFB.
CFB Volunteers
We can never have enough volunteers to help us in all sorts of ways:
- arrange events to draw in those not currently involved in sustainability issues
- organise sessions where people can learn practical tips for sustainable living
- fundraise to help keep these events going
- or simply offer to help every now and then as time and personal commitments allow.
We're always keen to hear from people who'd like to get involved, whether you can simply offer an hour ot two every now and then or are willing to commit more time, we'd love to hear from you; email us at climatechampions@ gmail.com to find out more.
Community Involvement Group
The Community Involvement Group makes all the arrangements for meetings, events, etc. It consists of people with a wide range of skills - organisational, publicity, communications, IT, and lots of enthusiam. So, if you have something you feel you could offer us, please let us know.
Influencing Local Groups
Whilst the community in Bradford-on-Avon can take many steps itself towards carbon neutrality, many key decisions are made by others. For example, decisions are made by Wiltshire Council, the Member of Parliament for Chippenham and transport companies amongst others.
In turn these individuals and groups are influenced by the media and other campaigning groups.
CFB needs people who can represent its views to individuals, organisations and the media. It needs to be able to work with other like-minded groups to promote common goals and seek to influence those whose decision-making powers will impact of the Bradford on Avon Community Area.
Influencing Local Residents i.e. You and Me!
Whilst individuals as part of the group can do much to find out about technologies and facilitate their implementation, the whole community must be actively involved in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
